Hi guys
Another writing project requires me to come up with a small selection of good longboarding spots in Scotland. If anyone's got any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I've got a few up my neck of the woods (north of Inverness) but keen to have a good geographical spread. Can also include skateparks, if you've any longboarder friendly ones, but my priority is identifying some good, smooth and preferably quiet roads.
Cheers
Dave

Dave
A719 north of Culzean in South Ayrshire. The main A719 turns left about 3 miles after Culzean Castle onto the A719 which leads up to Croy Bay ; the section that I've scoped out is immediately north from the junction. It is very smooth and has a fairly steep gradient for approx 200 m leading to left hander then runs out uphill. This would be a very fast run and would require full protection and confidence in longboarding ability as well as nerve. Best tackled early morning , it is not a busy road , however a lookout would be recommended. One for the future perhaps.

Dave,
THE Hill climb race track between Glasgow and Edinburgh...Forestburn is a good spot...
Heres the thread on it:
http://longboardglasgow.freeforums.org/ ... -t159.html
Also check out the Share thread on here...there are some good slide hills on there: Beaconsfield road in Glasgow is a good one.
When is the deadline for the skate spots? There are a few I've heard about but not yet skated so won't reccommned them yet.
Cheers
Will.

...and obviously Temple, Midlothian - just off the b6372, through the village and off to the right half way up the next hill. Start at the cottages at the top for a run just under a mile long. Dave knows this one now...
Some great roads in the borders also - one particular one being the b6355 between Cranshaws and Ellemford running down to the bridge at Ellemford. Great slide spots here too - take your first right (heading east) after Ellemford and follow the road for an awesome slide hill. Narrow, but smooth and STEEP!

in findon (near aberdeen) there is a few good hills im not sure if ive found them all.there is alot of variaty from steep to long and mellow. there is also in the new housing estate outside portlethen <lethan> if you want to try some hills here you may need to venture a little but one of the best hills leads into portlethen under a rail bridge near thistle drive and there is also two hills leading into it for variaty.

Hi Turtle,
i had a look for the hill in portlethen when i passed by last month but i could not find it. I'll be passing by again on the 16th. Can you post a map up for it please? I should be there between 11/1pm if you fancy a skate.
Nice one.
