Hi all,

I just stumbled into this forum googling longboarding on the internet, seems the perfect thing for me to join as I've just ordered a longboard and live near Kelvingrove Park. I'm sure I've seen many of you people in the park on your boards.

I've been half thinking about getting into longboarding for a while, but it was only really last weekend when I had a shot of my friend's board that I realised I shouldn't have been putting this off.

See you around,

-Johanna

ok, I've got my board - a Lush Kuni, and I've done a few runs in the park, mostly down from the lion statue, diagonally across the flat area where the BBC often park their vehicles, and down the straight road at the side of the park towards the skatepark.

I'm pleased with my fist evening on a longboard, I only fell off once (in a non-painful, but humiliating manner) trying to do a tight turn. This does feel a lot safer at speed than my other skateboard (no suprise there), and there is a definite feeling that I want to find a steeper hill and go faster. I'm going to try to be sensible though and not go too fast for a few weeks until I know how my board is going to behave. I'm not too keen on high-speed suprises just yet.

Brilliant...Welcome aboard!

K-grove is a great place to learn...the run from the monument to the back gate (on the Suchihall st. side) is a nice gently run to learn on.

Hopefully see you on Thursday evening...

Cheers

Will
